Massive Surf Warning on the South Coast This Week
If you were planning a refreshing winter surf or swim this week you might want to think again. This morning the Bureau of Meteorology issued a hazardous surf warning for the entire coast of New South Wales, from Eden to Byron Bay.
There are swells of up to 5 metres expected until Wednesday. 5 metres! That means waves the size of two storey houses crashing against the coast for the next few days.
The NSW Police Force Marine Area Command advise that people stay out of the water, rock fishers avoid coastal platforms and boaters consider delaying their journey.
Water safety is no joke on our coastline, with a reported 37 people drowning in the area since July 2018. Stay safe out there!
