Muswellbrook Eagles Not Counting Chickens After Undefeated Start

It’s been 2012 since the Eagles have won a trophy

We may be only half way into the soccer season but the Muswellbrook Eagles all ages side are eyeing off some silverware.

The eagles haven’t lifted a trophy since 2012.

They remain undefeated from six matches (although they did come close with a draw) and their home ground is looming as a fortress for visiting teams.

They have pulled away from the pack and are sitting a game clear ahead of Lake Macquarie who ae in second.

The strong attacking performances saw them bag 12 in their first four matches of the season, but more recently their stable defence has impressed fans and seen them rise to the top.

“It’s an unreal feeling when you’re a defender and you come off the field with a clean sheet, that in my book is a tick because that’s what our job is”. Says defender Marty Stuart.

Although the team is cautious not to be overly confident, especially considering they were in a similar position last year, there is a positivity around the club, that could see them reach new heights.

We wish them all the best for the second half of the year. Go Eagles!
