Wollongong’s Dance For Cancer Breaks A New Record
Wollongong has seen another year of shoe shuffling and toe tapping for the annual Stars of Wollongong Dance For Cancer 2019.
Illawarra personalities have come together to raise a record breaking $215,000 for the Cancer Council in the dancing with the stars style event.
Almost 800 people filled the seats at Wollongong’s WIN Entertainment Centre to see their local television presenters, sports stars and activewear queens dance the night away at the gala dinner.
Among the contestants were Illawarra Hawks player, Tim Conrad, fitness instructor Lisa Trujillo, WIN TV journalist Katie Gallagher and Luke Rollinson, childhood cancer survivor.
Cancer Council statistics reveal that one in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.
Wollongong’s top fundraiser of the night was real estate agent Cristian Carvana who brought in a whopping $31,411.21 in donations for his performance.
Local celebrity Ryan ‘Crammy’ Cram competed in the event, bringing in $6,000 in donations for the cause and brought a floor dropping performance.
He joined Tyler, Cam and Greg on Drive. Take a listen to what went down below.
