Sky News Locks in Content Deals with Win and SCA – What does this Mean?
Sky News regional will broadcasted on 17 of Southern Cross Stereo (SCA)’s regional market, as well as selected WIN News regions, after a pair of content deals were made. These changes are set to be put into effect from August 1 2021, which is sure to benefit regional communities around this country.
Admits these changes, Sky news Executive Paul Whittaker said
“We have established a strong and dedicated free-to-air audience in regional Australia and we are pleased that, through this new multi-year agreement with Southern Cross Austereo, we can now provide viewers on the SCA network with the opportunity to discover Sky News content through a new dedicated channel, Sky News Regional.
“As we celebrate 25 years of broadcast in Australia, we look forward to introducing new television audiences to our unrivalled news coverage, together with informed analysis and context from our leading journalists and commentators.”
Sky news will be broadcasted on Channel 56 across SCA’s regional television assets in Victoria, Southern NSW and Queensland including Cairns, Townsville, Sunshine Coast, Canberra, Wollongong, Wagga Wagga, Orange, Bendigo, and Ballarat. The content will be produced by Sky News Australia who will be broadcasting news, current and national affairs as well as weather. This will be complemented by the the Fox sports news team who will cover sport.
